PERFIL REQUERIDO DEL CANDIDATO:

  • Conocimientos necesarios:  

- A strong interest in arts is required, preferably as a student of Art History, as well as a commitment to environmental sustainability, solidarity and an awareness of issues related to race, gender, class

- Skills in photo and video documentation for events and programs

- Knowledge of graphic design or visual design (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

- Creative, independent work on projects and enthusiasm for collaborative teamwork

  • Conocimientos valorables:

- Basic knowledge of event organization and logistics, as many programs include open-air series and event productions

- solid computer skills in standard software

- Experience in social media and digital communication (e.g., Instagram, website content) to support public relations

  • Características personales:

The candidate should also be willing to take on manual—i.e., “simple” but necessary—tasks, such as running errands, mopping floors, and transporting items between our two locations in Brooklyn and on Governors Island.   • Tareas a desarrollar:

The trainee will support the daily activities of the organization and assist in the realization of artistic programs and events. Tasks include both organizational and practical work, such as assisting with exhibition and event production, running errands, basic maintenance tasks (e.g. cleaning, mopping floors), and transporting materials between our two locations in Brooklyn and on Governors Island.

The trainee will also support administrative and communication tasks, including general office work, basic computer-based tasks using standard software, and assistance with documentation. Depending on skills and interest, this may include photographic documentation, image editing (e.g. Photoshop), and help with visual or social media content.

A strong interest in arts is required, preferably as a student of Art History. The trainee should share our values of solidarity, tolerance, and sensitivity to issues of environmental sustainability, race, gender, and class. We work collaboratively as a team, share responsibilities, and treat all team members as equals.
