Tasks for the Contracting Department

The function of the Contracting

Department is to negotiate all accommodation services required by Abbey Ireland for its Groups, Individual and Corporate Departments. The team is responsible for all administration related to all areas of contracting i.e. sending/return of contracts, effective and timely communication with the Information Systems Department to ensure contracts are loaded to our company database.

This position would include some or all of the following duties:

- The department has a pro-active role in the identification of new and existing hotel product for its incorporation into programmes suitable for sale/operating by the Group.

- Creating descriptions for new product as well as maintaining existing product information and imagery is also a role of the department.

- As part of the day to day role, we need to ensure that all central documents are kept up to date, such as the overview chart and that all contracting templates are prepared in advance etc.

- Comparing information/rates based on YOY increases from our suppliers.

- The co-ordination (or attending) of some suppliers/trade visits to the Group office and supplier invitations are managed by Paula and her team.

- Cover of front office reception as assigned

- Assisting the Group with its environmental and responsible tourism initiatives

 

Flexibility is required as the position may also extend to cover support in any of the Company’s other departments as the need arises.
